Application for liquid and powder:

Preparation is always the key factor when applying any system to the natural nail. Without careful attention this can cause many problems to the enhancement. We are now going to take you through a step by step guide to ensure you every success with our product.

Preparation:

·         Assess the natural nails to ensure that the treatment can go ahead

·         Use the rounded end of the dual tool and gently push back the eponychium

·         Turn the tool over and remove the cuticle (products will not stick to skin, if left this will cause lifting)

·         Use a 240g file or a white block and gently remove the surface shine from the natural nail

·         If tips are required then got through this process next

·         Remove the dust using some sanitiser on a nail wipe, do not spray directly onto the nail as this could overexpose and again cause lifting.

·         Apply a small amount of primer to the nail, be careful not to use too much as this product can damage the natural nail. (One dip from the bottle is enough to do 5 nails.)

Application of the liquid and powder:

As I have already explained our products are using new technology and so it is essential for you to read through this to enable you to get maximum (benefits.)

You must make sure that you are working with a brush that has been prepared properly and that your station is clean and dust free, dust is a contamination and cause problems with the finished product.

Fill a dappen dish ¾ full.

Squeeze the brush at the bottom of the dappen dish to make sure that you release all of the air bubbles from the brush, if left this can cause air bubbles to appear in the overlay.

Completely drain the brush on one side and then turn the brush over and do half a drain, this is important to ensure that you have the right amount of liquid on your brush so that you can always pick up the perfect bead.

Hold the brush in the powder and let the products come together. Please do not be tempted to draw a line in the powder or circle the brush to pick up a bead.

This is essential, not getting this bit right will cause you to pick up the wrong ratio and will later give you an unclear finish or lifting problems.

Wet ratios can lead to a slower set and maybe overexposure problems. Dry beads could lead to a brittle overlay.

When you place the bead on the nail watch the product rise and then let it ‘melt’...... Do Not be tempted to start moving the product to early, if you leave it for enough time you will almost witness it self levelling.

Press the product to where you need it and then feather the product to give it a smooth finish.

It is still recommended that you apply the overlay in 3 zones as you will not only build the perfect shape but the overlay will naturally be built well in the stress area.

Finishing off:

It is advised to use a 240grit or 180g file to buff up newly applied Acrylic. If you use anything rougher you are at risk of putting too deep scathes in the nail which will inhibit polymerisation process.

White block the nail to remove all of the scratches.

If you are leaving them clear you could 3way buff them now to a high shine.

Always finish will cuticle oil this is essential for polymerisation process, tiny microscopic holes will be left in the nail, the oil will push the dust out and allow the product to finish setting.

Remember to always tell your client to be careful for the first 24 hours, the Acrylic actually takes 48 hours to completely set but if they are careful for the first day it will ensure they last well.

Advise that your client  puts cuticle oil on every  it will help the enhancements last longer.
