FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
The Acrylic is lifting:
There could be several reasons for this:
· The product is too thick around the cuticle area nail folds
· The product is touching soft tissue
· You did not sufficiently remove the ‘cuticle’
· Ratio of liquid to powder was too wet
· Once you have finished filing the ridge around the cuticle area is not even and smooth
There are bubbles in my overlay:
Again there could be a couple of reasons for this:
· Ratio of liquid to powder is too dry
· When the bead was placed on the nail sufficient time was not allowed to let the product ‘rise and melt’ (please see application)
· The brush needs to pressed against the bottom of the dappen dish to release air from the hairs in the brush
· You have not worked the bead enough on the nail.
The product has gone yellow on the nail:
· Always allow the primer to dry
· You have not kept your brush clean
-never stand your brush upright
-never let any other product touch your nail other than monomer
-always store flat and in a dust free container/couch roll
· You have poured old liquid back into the bottle
· Contaminants have got into your powder
The product won’t set:
· The temperature in the room is too cold
· You have swapped one of your products for a different brand
· One of the products is contaminated
The product is running into the side walls before I have had chance to move it:
· The ratio of liquid and powder is incorrect
· The room and your client are too cold
Does Acrylic damage the natural nail:
If you place a clipping of a natural nail in a bottle of monomer and have a look at it in a few months you will see that the nail is as it was when first placed in the bottle.
It is technicians that damage nails not chemicals.
My clients are complaining that their nails are breaking easily:
· Incorrect ratio
· The tip has been stuck on with air and so coming away easily
· Nails are too long
There is a strong smell to the liquid:
· Only ever pour enough that you will use, the liquid evaporating is what you can smell
Always work with a metal bin
